Christina Gateway Community Development Association or “Gateway” is representative of most Christina Lake organizations
It is a federated organization and as such has organizations, instead of individuals as members.
Gateway’s organization members are comprised of registered societies, local government agencies and service organizations in and around Christina Lake, BC.

Business Support & Development
Gateway aids with the following business support services:
- Foster, maintain and liaise communication between local government community leaders, funders and other stakeholders.
- Assist people that want to start or to grow their business.
- Assist Christina Lake businesses with communication, networking and sharing business knowledge.
- Ongoing development of community marketing strategy to encourage new business.
- Encourage and help new business as appropriate.
- Ongoing development of social enterprises within Christina Lake organizations.
- Creating and maintaining a local Business Directory.
- Member of the West Kootenay Boundary Community Investment Co-op.
- Member of the BC Economic Development Association.
- Member of EDPN (Economic Development Practitioners Network)
Organizational Support & Development
Gateway provides the following assistance to non-profit and charitable organizations:
- Strategic planning upon request.
- Administration assistance.
- Assistance with interpreting relevant legislation.
- Help in creating regulated documents, forms, agendas, minutes etc as required for government filing and compliance purposes.
- Assistance with review and updating corporate documents.
Promoting and Improving the
Economic, Civic & Social Welfare of Christina Lake
Administration Services
- Administration and secretariat assistance for the Christina Lake Welcome Centre core operations as mandated by the RDKB and the Province of BC.
- Bookkeeping and employee relations for the Christina Lake Welcome Centre.
- Administration and secretariat services if requested for member organizations and other non-profit organizations serving Christina Lake.
- Administration and financial reporting for funded community projects as required and requested.
Community Support
- Create and publish Christina Lake’s weekly e-newsletter or “e-Blast”.
- Post events on Christina Lake and Boundary Community Calendars, "Christina Lake is a Happening Place" Facebook page, and in the weekly e-Blast email campaign sent to the resident and business communities.
- Promote Christina Lake at Community and Government Network meetings, forums & events.
- Notifications of Breaking and Important News affecting Christina Lake and surrounding region.
Project Management
Gateway provides the following employment management services for funded community projects:
- Hires and supervises staff and funded project workers according to BC Employment Standards and Services.
- Provides appropriate and prompt reporting to appropriate agencies.
Event Planning
Gateway provides assistance for community events (depending on resources available):
- Fundraising.
- Help with annual planning and actual event.
