Our Main Goals
Christina Gateway Community Development Association is a federated organization and as such has organizations, instead of individuals as members.
Gateway’s organization members are comprised of registered societies, local government agencies and service organizations in and around Christina Lake, a strong voice with a common goal of strengthening Christina Lake’s economy and social well being.
- Promoting community development and collaboration.
- Maintaining ongoing development and implementation of community economic development programs with the goal of increasing economic viability.
- Encouraging, developing, strengthening and collaborating with all residents, organizations and stakeholders at the Lake and nearby communities.Stewarding community and area resources.
- Promoting community activities and businesses.
Our Economic Development Strategic Plan
Christina Gateway Community Development Association was formed in 2012
Gateway is representative of most of the community lead organizations for the purpose of moving strategically to develop community and economic resources.
- Create and support development of an inbound marketing capacity for businesses in Christina Lake by establishing a standard of digital adoption and collective marketing. Raise the profile of Christina Lake within target markets;
- Continue to endeavour and push to develop broadband infrastructure and support development of a strong e-commerce sector;
- Create a business attraction program;
- Retain existing businesses and support succession planning and marketing of businesses for sale;
- Support entrepreneurs interested in creating businesses in our community;
- Develop social enterprises to maximize impact of community resources;
- Plan to add value to local resources and re-purpose existing assets;
- Develop and respond to new tourism flows.
